As the Most Successful Lab in Central Texas, TFC Takes Great Care of Future Generations

When you select Texas Fertility Center (TFC), you not only receive world-class care from skilled physicians, but also peace of mind from working with a highly specialized fertility lab.  Austin IVF, a TFC partner, regularly attains national recognition from entities that oversee fertility laboratories. Specially designed to promote optimal embryo development, Austin IVF’s mission is to nurture your embryos until they are transferred back into your body.

Before beginning a process like in vitro fertilization (IVF) or intrauterine insemination (IUI), many patients opt for genetic testing. Through parental screening, we can collect saliva or blood samples to screen you and your partner for over 130 genes linked to inherited diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, Tay-Sachs, Sickle Cell, and fragile X. At Texas Fertility Center, we also employ preimplantation genetic screening (PGS), also referred to as preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD). This technique, where a single cell is removed from the embryo to check for abnormalities, increases the likelihood of transferring chromosomally normal embryos into your uterus.

Sometimes, Mother Nature needs a little push, so we offer advanced techniques such as intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and laser assisted hatching. If your partner has a low sperm count or reduced sperm motility, we can utilize intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) to increase the chances of fertilization. Assisted hatching softens the “shell” around the egg, or oocyte, improving the odds of implantation. Austin IVF and our team of expert embryologists also provide support for the oocytes (eggs) after retrieval and then keep the embryos safe until the embryo transfer. Should you have extra embryos that can be cryopreserved (frozen) after transfer, Austin IVF will safeguard them until you and your partner are ready to move forward.
