Intended Parent Information

For some infertile couples, egg donation represents the only real chance for parenthood and the ability to experience the entire pregnancy process from conception to delivery. At TFC, we have a team of professionals specifically dedicated to guiding donors and intended parents through each step of the process. TFC allows the use of designated or anonymous donors. For our patients who choose to use an anonymous donor, we have designed our program to exceed the basic guidelines set by the American Society of Reproductive Medicine to ensure that the anonymity of both our intended parent couples and donors is protected. Additionally, Texas law ensures that the process remains anonymous.

All TFC donors undergo a rigorous prescreening process designed to detect genetic, psychological and physical health abnormalities, as well as sexually transmitted diseases, smoking, alcohol and drug use. Only those women who have passed the complete screening process, including a preliminary ultrasound examination and hormonal screening, become available as donors to our potential intended parent couples.

Financial Information  for couples working with donors

Once the intended parents have selected their egg donor or gestational carrier, a financial consultation will be scheduled with our Donor Financial Counselor. Prior to this consultation, the intended parents will be provided with a financial packet including a fee sheet estimate that is tailor made for their individual cycle.  They will also be given a form for necessary credit card authorizations.  At the financial consultation, our counselor will explain in detail the costs associated with the cycle and answer any questions regarding cycle fees.

If insurance provides coverage for In Vitro Fertilization, our financial counselor will verify whether this includes coverage for medical services provided to an egg donor or a gestational carrier.   Knowing exactly what services related to egg donation or gestational carriage your policy covers before beginning an IVF cycle can be very beneficial.  We recommend that you also contact your insurance company to verify whether or not your policy covers theses services.  Please be aware that, despite verification of benefits obtained by you and/or Texas Fertility Center, insurance companies do not guarantee payment for services until after claims have been filed.  We understand exactly how maddening this can be; however, these are not our rules – they are the rules of the insurance carriers.

If you are considering financing your IVF cycle with egg donation or a gestational carrier with ARC, Advanced Reproductive Care, please contact our Donor Financial Counselor at (512)451-0149 ext 7401.

FAQs

When are my cycle fees due?

The fees for Texas Fertility Center and Austin IVF are due at the time of your financial consultation with our Donor Financial Counselor.

Can I make payment arrangements for my cycle fees?

We work with different outside financing sources, including Advanced Reproductive Care (ARC), who provide financing options for fertility treatment.  The sources available to us may change, depending on economic conditions.
